Ben Affleck opens up about his struggles filming ‘Batman’

Ben Affleck revealed one of the major difficulties he faced during his Batman era and how physically draining the role was for him.

Affleck, who played the titular DC Comic hero from 2016 to 2023 in films such as Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, The Flash and Justice League, as well as the expanded Zack Snyder’s Justice League, shared his struggles with acting while wearing the Batman costume.

“I hated the Batsuits. The Batsuits are horrendous to wear,” said The Accountant star in an interview with GQ. “They’re hot for one thing. They don’t breathe.”

Affleck went on to give details about the suit, saying that there was “no thought put into the human being” part of costume. He said that he use to sweat heavily in it like “just be pouring water.”

“It just made it difficult to make the movie, because you’re so hot,” said the Oscar winner. “It also does not make you feel very heroic, because you’re instantly exhausted and really sweaty.”

Comparing his outfit with Christian Bale and Robert Pattison’s, he added, “guys like that, were just better at dealing with it.”

As of now, Affleck is promoting his upcoming film Accountant 2, directed by Gavin O’Connor also starring Cynthia Addai-Robinson and Jon Bernthal.

The film is set to premiere on April 25.
