Cardi B shuts down the disrespectful pregnancy rumours swirling online.
The Bodak Yellow singer being cleared of assault charges in a $24 million lawsuit. The rapper, 32, was sued by security guard Emani Ellis, who alleged Cardi B cut her cheek with her 3-inch fingernail and spat on her outside an obstetrician’s office in 2018.
The jury only took a single hearing to give a verdict in Cardi’s favour, dismissing claims of assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligence, and false imprisonment.
As Cardi B addressed reporters outside the courthouse, one reporter tried to intervene and asked about pregnancy rumours amid her divorce from Offset and new romance with NFL player Stefon Diggs.
The question seemed to rub Cardi the wrong way, and she quickly grabbed a pen from another reporter and threw it in the direction of the male reporter. “Stop disrespecting me,” Cardi yelled. “Don’t disrespect me.”
When the reporter yelled back, “I still love you even though you threw some stuff at me,” Cardi B swiftly turned around and responded, “I don’t care. You’re disrespectful, don’t do that. Do you see women asking those types of questions to me? Why do you feel, as a man, that you get to ask me those types of questions? Act like you have some manners. And your mama taught you, respect women.”
After the pen incident, the mother-of-three told the remaining reporters that they could thank the “disrespectful” male reporter for her lack of participation in answering their questions.
“Y’all are not going to see me after that, and you can thank him. I’m not playing around. I was very nice, I was very kind… Nobody’s going to get that no more.”
Before the incident, Cardi B expressed her thoughts on the lawsuit, saying, “I work all day and I work hard for my money, for my kids, for the people that I take care of. So don’t you ever think that you’re going to sue me, and I’m just going to settle.”
She also called on her fans not to bother Ellis or her family now that a judgment had been reached
