Blake Lively’s team stepped in to stop Justin Baldoni from getting the messages, saying they had nothing to do with the case.
Baldoni’s lawyers had even tried to get them directly from Taylor Swift by sending legal notices to her and her team. But Swift’s side shut it down, calling it a pointless search. After that, Lively kept pushing to keep the messages out of Baldoni’s reach.
Blake’s team jumped in to block Justin from getting the messages, saying they weren’t connected to the case. Baldoni’s side had even gone after Taylor and her lawyers to try and get the messages straight from her.
But Swift’s team pushed back, calling it a useless and unfair attempt. Even after that, Lively didn’t back down and kept trying to stop Baldoni from seeing the messages.
The spokesperson said: “We will continue to call out Baldoni’s relentless efforts to exploit Ms Swift’s popularity, which from day one has been nothing more than a distraction from the serious sexual harassment and retaliation accusations he and the Wayfarer [Studios] parties are facing.”
But Judge Liman said Lively’s argument that Baldoni was dragging Swift in just for publicity wasn’t enough to stop the Wayfarer team from getting information that could be important to the case.
