Rhea Poddar Loyalka, a renowned gemologist and jewelry expert, highlights the significance of women in leadership, particularly in traditionally male-dominated industries. “The future is female. This International Women’s Day is more significant than ever. In the coming years, we expect to see more women-led and women-owned companies making an impact in their industries, helping bridge the wage gap and reduce gender disparities,” she notes.

Poddar Loyalka points out that while the global gemstone industry is largely dominated by men—from miners and artisans to traders and retailers—women remain the primary consumers of jewelry. “This industry thrives on creativity, resilience, and empathy—qualities that women have historically embodied. Having women in leadership roles in these industries serves as an essential counterbalance, ensuring that products cater more effectively to consumer needs,” she explains.

The Human-Centric Approach to Leadership

Innovation in the workplace is not only about technological advancements but also about leadership that prioritizes employees, customers, and stakeholders. “Every industry must constantly innovate to remain relevant.
